Overview

A porta cabin — short for portable cabin — is a factory-built room delivered to your site ready to use: walls, roof, flooring, doors, windows and wiring complete, needing only a level base and a power connection. It has quietly replaced brick construction for site offices, security posts, shops, toilets, worker housing and even farmhouses across India.

We are Porta Cabin Systems — the porta cabin is literally our name and our entire business. On this page you will find what porta cabins are, the types and sizes we build, and how to judge quality before you buy, with links to every product in our range.

What Is a Porta Cabin?

Structurally, a porta cabin is a welded steel frame clad with insulated sandwich panels (PUF, EPS or Rockwool core between steel sheets), mounted on a rigid base that lets the whole finished room be lifted, transported and placed again. Interiors are finished like any office or room — laminated walls, vinyl flooring, LED lighting, switches and sockets — and layouts range from a compact guard post to multi-room offices with toilets, pantries and air-conditioning provision.

Because everything is built in a factory and simply placed at your location, a porta cabin sidesteps the three pains of construction: time, mess and permanence. It is a movable asset — take it with you, resell it, or rent it out.

Why Porta Cabins Beat Construction

  • Speed — manufactured in the factory and installed in a day, so you have a working room while civil work would still be at foundation stage.
  • Fixed price — a factory quotation instead of open-ended site costs.
  • Mobility — lift, load and relocate between corners of a plot or across the country. Your investment is never stuck.
  • Comfort — insulated panels keep interiors cooler than plain sheet rooms and reduce air-conditioning load.
  • Land stays free — no permanent construction, which suits leased plots and land awaiting development.

How to Judge a Quality Porta Cabin

  1. Panel type — the core matters most: PUF insulates best, Rockwool wins on fire resistance, EPS is the economy choice. Ask which you are getting and why.
  2. Steel gauge — check frame sections and sheet thickness, and ask for the steel specification in writing.
  3. Electricals — concealed, MCB-protected wiring with earthing, not surface-taped wires.
  4. Weatherproofing — a sloped roof with gutters, gasketed openings and sealed panel joints.
  5. The base — a rigid skid or container base engineered for repeated lifting.
  6. Warranty and inspection — inspection before dispatch and a written warranty on structure and workmanship.
  7. Delivery terms — confirm who handles transport, craneage and placement, and what the delivered price is.

How Your Porta Cabin Is Built

  1. Frame fabrication — welded from MS sections on a jig for square, true geometry.
  2. Panelling — insulated panels fixed with sealed joints; doors and windows fitted into reinforced openings.
  3. Services and interiors — concealed wiring, plumbing where specified, flooring and interior finishing completed indoors.
  4. Paint and branding — primer and weatherproof topcoat, or ACP cladding and branding for premium units.
  5. Dispatch and installation — quality checks, loading, transport and crane placement at your site.
