What a G+1 Porta Cabin Actually Is
A G+1 setup is two porta cabins stacked vertically: a ground-floor unit and a first-floor unit. The supporting structure, connections, base and staircase must be designed for the complete two-storey arrangement. An external staircase with railings gives access to the upper floor, usually with a landing or walkway outside the upper door. Each floor works as its own room. You can use them the same way, such as two offices or two staff rooms, or split the uses, with a store below and an office above, or a security room below and a supervisor's cabin above. Our standard single cabin is clad in corrugated MS sheet. For G+1 units, the structure, staircase and floor are designed together for the two-storey arrangement, and the design is confirmed in the drawing and quotation.

Why Plants in Sriperumbudur Go G+1
Twice the Space, Same Footprint Industrial plots here are expensive and tightly laid out. Going up instead of out keeps your yard, roads and parking free. Separate Work From Storage Keep heavy tools, files or material on the ground floor and put people upstairs, where it's quieter and away from the dust and traffic of the yard. Better View of the Site A first-floor office gives a supervisor or project manager a clear view over the work area, which is especially useful on large construction and expansion projects. No Long Civil Job The cabins are built complete at our yard, so you don't need a long construction phase inside a running plant. Delivery, unloading and placement on your site are arranged as set out in your quotation. Stacking the cabins and fixing the staircase on site are arranged as set out in your quotation. When Plans Change When the project ends or the layout changes, moving the cabins is an option you don't have with a brick building, and it depends on their size, configuration, condition, site access, transport requirements and the lifting method available at that time.
How G+1 Cabins Are Used in the Sriperumbudur Belt
Expansion Project Offices Automobile and electronics plants here expand in phases. Each phase brings civil, steel and MEP contractors who need offices for several months. A G+1 block can house the main contractor upstairs and the sub-contractors or stores below. Labour Accommodation Large projects bring in workers from across the country. G+1 cabins let you house more people on a small patch of land, with rooms on both floors and enough space for lighting, fans and bunk layouts. Security and Admin Blocks At busy gates, a G+1 unit can hold the security room and visitor desk on the ground floor, with a small admin or HR office above. Warehouse and Logistics Offices Logistics parks near the highway use G+1 cabins for dispatch teams downstairs and management or billing offices upstairs, right beside the loading docks. Training and Meeting Rooms Plants running training for new staff often need a temporary classroom or meeting room. The upper floor of a G+1 setup works well for this.

Built for Chennai's Weather
Sriperumbudur's weather is hard on steel. The northeast monsoon brings heavy rain between October and December, and the humid coastal air is there all year. We keep this in mind: • A painted finish on the MS sheet cladding to protect it against moisture. • Roof drainage planned in the drawing, so heavy rain runs off rather than pooling. • The base: Support, foundation, levelling and anchoring requirements depend on the site and are confirmed in the drawing and quotation. Tell us at the start if the plot is prone to waterlogging. Routine care, such as touching up paint and checking for rust after the monsoon, keeps the cabin in good condition. On a purchased cabin, it is also part of keeping the structural warranty valid.
Sizes and Layouts
A G+1 configuration can use two 20 × 10 ft cabins stacked, but we can also build smaller or larger units depending on your space and use. Options include: • Number and placement of doors and windows on each floor • Internal partitions, such as a manager's cabin plus an open work area • Lights, fans, power points and AC provision on both floors • Staircase position — front, side or end — to suit your site layout • Attached toilet on the ground floor where needed We start with a 2D drawing showing both floors, the staircase and the electrical layout, so your plant engineer or safety team can check it before anything is built.

Buy or Rent?
Buying is the better fit for plants that will use the space for a year or more. A G+1 block is a real asset for contractors working across the corridor, and moving it to another project later depends on its size, configuration, condition, site access, transport requirements and the lifting method available at that time. Renting may work for a single fixed-length project. Because Sriperumbudur is an inter-state delivery from our base near Bangalore, transport is a bigger part of the cost. Share your timeline, and we'll give you a straight comparison before you decide.
Why Order From Porta Cabin Systems?
Delivered Complete From Bangalore Sriperumbudur sits on the same Chennai–Bengaluru highway corridor as our base. We build the cabins fully at our yard and transport them to your site in Tamil Nadu. Proper Inter-State Paperwork We're a registered MSME, and our GSTIN and Udyam registration number are shown at the foot of every page. You get a correct GST invoice for an inter-state supply, and we're comfortable working against your purchase order. Drawing First, Always Nothing goes into production until you've approved the layout for both floors and the staircase. Warranty On a purchased cabin, we give a 5-year structural warranty, with routine care against rust and paint by the customer, and a 1-year warranty on the electrical fittings and hardware we supply.
How the Order Works
1. Share your requirement. Tell us the size, number of floors, use and your plot location in Sriperumbudur, Oragadam or Irungattukottai. 2. Get a quotation and drawing. We send a clear quote with a 2D layout of both floors and the staircase. 3. Approve and pay the advance. Production begins once you confirm. 4. We build the cabins at our yard near Bangalore. 5. Delivery, stacking and staircase fixing. The cabins are trucked to your site. Delivery, unloading and placement on your site are arranged as set out in your quotation. Stacking the cabins and fixing the staircase on site are arranged as set out in your quotation. Before Delivery Prepare the base confirmed in your drawing and quotation for the two-storey load. There must be enough room for a truck and crane to work, including overhead clearance for lifting the upper cabin. Also arrange gate passes for our vehicles if your plant requires them. Sharing site photos helps us plan the lift safely.
